What is Ribbon Printing? And How It Happens!
Custom-printed ribbons are a powerful tool to elevate your brand identity and add a touch of luxury to your products. At Boxsaat, we offer two primary printing techniques: screen printing and foiling.
Each method brings unique qualities to your ribbon, and understanding the differences can help you make the best choice for your brand.
Foiling or Hot-Stamping
Foiling, or hot-stamping, is a printing technique that transfers a metallic or colored foil onto a surface using heat and pressure. A heated die is pressed against the material, causing the foil to adhere to the desired area. This method creates a shiny, metallic, or colored finish, often used for logos, text, or decorative elements.
In foiling, the color options are restricted to the available foil colors. While there’s a variety of metallic and colored foils, the range is significantly narrower than inks used in screen printing.
Screen Printing
Screen printing is a technique where ink is forced through a stencil onto a surface. A fine mesh screen is stretched over a frame, and the design is blocked out on the screen. Ink is then pushed through the open areas of the screen onto the material below. This method is versatile and allows for detailed designs and multiple colors.
This method uses inks that can be mixed to create a wide range of colors. Almost any color imaginable can be reproduced using screen printing.
